Finding innovative and cost-effective uses for biosolids in agriculture is always challenging. This project trialled the injection of liquid biosolids in soil, looking at the effects on soil properties, crop quality and groundwater changes. The results from pre-and post-injection groundwater and soil monitoring indicate minimal accumulation of nutrients and other contaminants in the vicinity of the trial site, with no adverse impact on crop quality as evident from detailed feed analysis.
Presented by Soil CRC Project Leaders Dr Aravind Surapaneni and Dr Balaji Seshadri. Dr Aravind Surapaneni is the Project Leader of the Soil CRC project ‘Application of liquid biosolids’ and is the Senior Research and Planning Scientist at South East Water. Dr Balaji Seshadri is the Soil CRC Project Leader for 'Unlocking soil nutrients with organic amendments' and Research Fellow at the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation at the University of Newcastle.
The webinar will include a presentation and a Q&A session.
